雑誌などの創刊・創刊号に関する表現
雑誌などが「創刊される」というときはbe first publishedを使います。
Bluestocking (Seitō) was first published in 1911.
青鞜は１９１１年に創刊されました。
「創刊号」には、first issue, first numberを使います。
The first issue of Bluestocking sold over 1,000 copies in the first month.
青鞜の創刊号は初月に１０００部以上を売上げました。
雑誌などの定期刊行物が「立ち上げられた」という意味で、foundedという語もよく使われます。
Bluestocking was founded in 1911 by a group of five women.
青鞜は、１９１１年に、５人の女性グループにより立ち上げられました。
廃刊・最終号に関する表現
「廃刊になる」というときはceased publication、「最終号」にthe last issueという表記が使われます。
The last issue of Bluestocking was published in February 1916, as the government prevented distributors from carrying the magazine, so the magazine ceased publication.
青鞜の最終号は１９１６年の２月に出版されました。政府が流通を禁止したため、雑誌は廃刊となりました。
また「廃刊になる」というときには、foldという語も使われます。Foldには、店・事業などが「つぶれる、破産する」という意味もあります。

また、雑誌が出版または「販売停止になる」という意味で、discontinuedという語もよく使われます。discontinuedは製品の製造中止などビジネス全般で使われる汎用的な語です。

青鞜の出版は、１９１６年に政府の抑圧により終了しました。
