「仮予約」の英語表現
実は、英語圏ではホテルやレストランの「仮予約」をする習慣がありません。仮予約を” make a temporary reservation” という英語で説明するときは、「仮予約」がどういうことを意味するのか詳しい説明をつけておくことをお勧めします。
| 同僚や友人の間で、「予定を抑えておく」「その日は空けておく」という意味の仮予約は英語圏でも使われます。ここでは詳しくは説明しませんが、I’ll pencil it into my diary. （鉛筆で書いておく=予定を入れておく）という表現をよく使います。鉛筆で入れると簡単に消しゴムで消せることから、「仮に抑えておく」という意味合いになります。 |
